Cycling tour of Buenos Aires
A bike ride around Buenos Aires is a great way to experience the city!
From the meeting place in San Martín Park, your English-speaking guide will take you on a fascinating tour of some of the city’s major attractions. The tour takes place at a leisurely pace, making it suitable for everyone.
Among other places, you cycle past Puerto Madero, the new port area with its lovely cafés and restaurants. This is also where the beautiful Puente de la mujer footbridge is located. It’s a unique piece of Spanish architecture uniting old Buenos Aires with the modern, new district.
The tour continues to the city’s green oasis, Costanera Sur, which is a large nature reserve boasting a rich bird life. On a clear day, you can look across the river, Rio de la Plata, from a vantage point in the reserve to neighbouring Uruguay.
You cycle on through the city’s parks and alleyways to the colourful working-class neighbourhood of La Boca, where you take a short break for a stroll or some refreshment. One of the city’s famous football teams, Boca Juniors, is from this part of the city, and you cycle right past their large stadium painted yellow and blue.
From your saddle, you also experience the San Telmo district, the oldest district and now a popular artists’ quarter.
The last stop of the ride is at Plaza de Mayo square, where Argentina’s spectacular pink government building is located. From here, you cycle back to the starting point, where you drop off the bikes.
