Full-day excursion to Moreton Island
Moreton Island is the world’s third-largest sand island. The island is less well known than its northern neighbour, K’gari – and that’s a shame because it’s every bit as exciting but far less touristy. The highest point of the island is Mount Tempest, which is the world’s highest stable coastal sand dune, standing an impressive 280 metres.
After a boat ride of just over an hour, you arrive at Moreton Island, and now have the whole day to explore the island. The starting point is Tangalooma Island Resort, where you can purchase activities ranging from Segway tours, snorkelling, kayaking, paddleboarding, guided tours of the island and much more besides. You can also choose to simply enjoy the beach, play tennis, try your hand at archery or be lucky enough to say hello to the island’s very famous pod of dolphins.
Lunch is included today, and you choose where you eat. Late afternoon, you return to Brisbane by ferry.
The price includes: Return transfer from hotel to the harbour, return boat ride from Brisbane to Moreton Island, day pass to Tangalooma Island Resort with various activities (some are optional extras).
Please note that a minimum number of 4 participants is required for this tour to go ahead. If this number is not reached, the tour will be cancelled, and you will, of course, get your money back.
