Full-day excursion to Sydney’s northern beaches and Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park

Just 30 km north of Sydney’s financial centre, the CBD, you’ll find one of the country’s oldest national parks, Ku-ring-gai.  The area is known for its scenic nature, its biodiversity, its great cultural-historical importance and its exciting wildlife. It offers numerous hiking trails, and the bays are made for kayaking or swimming in the crystal-clear waters.

In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel or nearby pick-up point (see details on your voucher) and head north to the scenic Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, where your guide will give you a fascinating insight into the local Aboriginal culture, and you may also be lucky enough to spot some of Australia’s exciting wildlife.

From here, you’ll head along a breathtaking stretch of coast to the famous Palm Beach, better known as “Palmy”, which is home to the rich and famous, and not least where Australia’s favourite soap opera, Home & Away, is filmed. You’ll visit some of the locations of the famous series (where more than 5,800 episodes have been filmed) and see the area’s impressive luxury villas.

Lunch (at your own expense) is enjoyed at a restaurant or café in the cosy beach town.

From Palm Beach, the tour heads south, where the beaches lie like pearls on a string: Whale Beach, Avalon Beach, Narrabeen Beach and Freshwater Beach. Enjoy the sight of the surfers taming the waves, and in the season from May-November perhaps even the glimpse of a whale!

At North Head, you’ll hike with your guide to a lookout point from which you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of the entrance to Sydney Harbour.

You’ll head back to Sydney on the ferry from Manly Beach to Circular Quay. While on the ferry, you have the opportunity to get some of the best camera shots of Sydney’s beautiful Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The tour ends at Circular Quay, and from here you have to find your way back to your hotel or perhaps continue into the city and find a nice place to have dinner.
