Full-day excursion to The Grampians National Park
If you’re into beautiful scenery, breathtaking viewpoints, rich cultural history and fascinating wildlife, this day trip to The Grampians National Park is just the thing for you.
The national park is located roughly a 3-hour drive west of Melbourne and is one of Australia’s most spectacular mountain regions.
The blue-grey sandstone mountains are made for hikes, and the wildlife is abundant. The Aboriginal people have lived here for thousands of years, and their rock paintings can be seen in caves. The beautiful Mackenzie Falls is also considered to be one of the highlights of a trip to The Grampians.
You depart from Melbourne early in the morning and head straight for the national park. The main town in the national park is called Halls Gap, and you will visit the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre here. You’re in with a good chance of seeing kangaroos on the lawns in the town – if it’s a hot day, they sit in the shade of the trees.
There’s time for a walk to Balconies Lookout, one of the most famous viewpoints in the national park, and if you have the energy for it, you can walk to one of the many waterfalls.
On the way back to Melbourne, a stop is made at a place where you can buy dinner. You’re back in Melbourne late evening.
The price includes: Transport, guide and admission to the national park.
