Full-day excursion to the Great Barrier Reef, outer reef
This excursion to the Great Barrier Reef is for those wishing to experience several different reefs on the outer reef. Today’s excursion offers the opportunity both for snorkelling and 1 or 2 trial dives.
The boat, a catamaran, heads out from Cairns/Port Douglas in the morning destined for the outer reef. The sail out here takes a couple of hours, giving you time to enjoy your morning coffee on the way. If you’re up for a trial dive on the reef, you will be given be a detailed briefing on this during the sail to the reef. Weather-permitting, you’ll be in the water at the first reef before 10.00 a.m.!
A delicious lunch is served on the boat at midday, and there is time to let your food go down before returning to the reef.
You’ll be docking at three different reefs today, with more than an hour to snorkel or dive at each of them.
On the way back to Cairns/Port Douglas, afternoon tea or coffee is served, and you can sit back and enjoy the ride.
The catamaran is well equipped with air conditioning, a bar and freshwater showers. At the back of the boat, there is a platform which is lowered into the water when you are anchored next to a reef, allowing you to get in and out of the water without the use of a ladder.
The price includes: Transport, snorkelling and diving equipment, wet suit, guide, lunch and morning and afternoon tea/coffee.
