Whale safari in Hervey Bay – Afternoon
Join an unforgettable whale safari, where you will get up close to the majestic humpback whales of Hervey Bay, known as one of the best places in the world for whale watching.
From July to October, humpbacks migrate from the Antarctic to the warmer waters of the Great Barrier Reef to mate, calve, and raise their young calves, and Hervey Bay is an important habitat for them. The bay is protected by K’Gari Island, and the calm waters provide an ideal environment for these impressive creatures to nurture their young.
The operator of these whale safaris has long experience in operating sustainable and eco-friendly tours in the waters off Hervey Bay. The experienced and passionate guides on board share their vast knowledge of the whales and their behaviour, making for a both educational and fascinating experience.
A custom-built catamaran with room for up to 80 people ensures you of an intense meeting with the whales. The catamaran is equipped with both underwater windows and a platform at sea level, allowing you to see the whales both above and below water.
In addition to humpback whales, you may be lucky enough to spot other species such as minke whales, southern right whales and, on rare occasions, even killer whales.
We can promise that this will be a lifetime experience!
