Wintjiri Wiru – A cultural experience in the Australian desert
Enjoy the enchanting open-air Wintjiri Wiru Show in the Australian desert.
You’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven a short distance to the open-air desert theatre, located on a sand dune with breathtaking views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. The name Wintjiri Wiru means ‘beautiful view out to the horizon in Pitjantjatjara, the local language, and perfectly captures the essence of this wonderful evening excursion.
With Australian wine in your glass and a delicious, light meal on your plate, you can simply sit back and enjoy the impressive show about to start. A combination of drones and lasers bring the story of the ancient Mala people to life in a modern tale under the starry sky. As you listen to traditional Inma music and storytelling in the local Pitjantjatjara language, feel a deep connection to the Australian landscape and its rich cultural heritage. It’s an experience that’s difficult to describe, but it makes a big impression.
After the show, you’ll be driven back to your hotel.
The show takes place at two different times; Just before sunset (Twilight) and after sunset (After Dark). On the first, you’ll experience yet another spectacular sunset over Uluru, and on the second, darkness has fallen and you’ll be rewarded with a beautiful starry sky.
