The blossoming of the cherry trees is known as Sakura, and it is one of the biggest highlights of Japan, enjoyed by tourists and the Japanese alike. The blossoming of the trees depends on the weather, but they generally come into bloom in Kyoto and Tokyo around the end of March/early April.
