With its lush rainforests, spectacular volcanoes and beautiful beaches, Costa Rica is a veritable paradise for nature lovers. February is in the middle of the dry season in Costa Rica, and the sunny, relatively dry weather makes it a popular month to travel there.
Explore Costa Rica’s impressive wildlife in some of the country’s scenic national parks such as Tortuguero, Corcovado or Rincón de la Vieja.
Discover the fantastic nature with a treetop walk in Monteverde Cloud Forest or a hike to the Arenal Volcano.

Sri Lanka has something for every taste all year round.
In February, the climate is predominantly mild throughout Sri Lanka. However, due to the country’s geographic location close to the equator, there is a risk of downpours throughout the year.
February is the perfect month to climb Little Adams Peak or Lion Rock (Sigiriya) as there is less likelihood of muddy, slippery paths and poor visibility due to rain.
If you love animals, February is also an excellent month to go on safari in Sri Lanka, as you may be lucky enough to spot leopards, elephants, bears, etc. If you’re going to Mirissa, there is also the option of going whale watching. February is right in the middle of whale season on Sri Lanka’s south coast, where you may be lucky enough to see dolphins and blue whales, for example.
Sri Lanka’s national day falls on 4 February and is celebrated across the country with ceremonies, parades and other celebrations marking Sri Lanka’s independence from British colonial rule in 1948.

Uganda, also known as the Pearl of Africa, offers some of Africa’s most scenic landscapes, as well as the opportunity for some unique nature and wildlife experiences.
February is in the middle of one of Uganda’s dry seasons, when you can expect blue skies, sunshine and lush, green vegetation.
The country offers safaris in Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you may be lucky enough to spot leopards, hyenas, lions, elephants and antelopes. February is at the end of the dry season, meaning that months without rain cause animals to congregate around the few remaining waterholes.
In Uganda, you also have a unique opportunity to see the mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where almost half of the world’s free-living population lives. Gorilla tracking with experienced rangers is an absolute highlight in Uganda. February is one of the best months to go gorilla tracking as the dry season makes the trails less muddy.

February is in the middle of the Cuban dry season, giving you great weather to explore Cuba’s unique culture, live music and colourful architecture.
The Cuban cities have a very special charm. Explore the historic streets of Havana’s old quarter, see the colourful houses in the UNESCO city of Trinidad, and try your hand at salsa at one of the country’s many dance venues.
Cuba is also particularly famous for its cigars, and the country actually has an entire festival dedicated to the tobacco product – the Habano Cigar Festival. It starts at the end of February in Havana.

Tanzania is one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations – and for good reason.
February offers every opportunity for you to see nature’s harsh but fascinating life unfold. The many wildebeest on the Serengeti savannah are calving (until March). The young calves are vulnerable to the area’s predators, and you may therefore be lucky enough to see lions, etc. hunting at close range.
The birdlife in Tanzania is also great to experience in February. The resident birds are nesting, while many birds from Europe and North Africa also migrate to Tanzania between November and March to seek shelter from the winter chill.

In February, it is dry season throughout Vietnam, with clear weather and pleasant, warm temperatures. February is one of the “cold” months in Vietnam, and although it can get a little chilly in the north, e.g. in Sapa, you’ll generally experience warm temperatures in Vietnam.
Experience Central Vietnam’s beautiful sights in blazing sunshine, e.g. the colonial city of Hoi An, with its charming old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Or look forward to experiencing Vietnam’s largest city Ho Chi Minh City’s mix of modern high-rises and colonial-era buildings. Zanzibar is a popular way to round off a safari tour to Tanzania, for example – and we totally get that.
February is one of the hottest months of the year in Tanzania, making it the ideal time to combine your safari with a beach holiday in Zanzibar, where the beautiful beaches warmly welcome you. The perfect escape from the winter cold.
Zanzibar also offers enriching experiences besides its azure waters. Mountains, deserts, beaches, jungle – Colombia has it all, and February is an excellent month to explore the country’s diversity and varied nature. It’s the dry season and you can expect sunny days with warm weather – depending on how high up you are.
In the Andes, you’ll find three of Colombia’s exciting areas. The country’s capital, Bogotá, is a wonderful mix of modern architecture and old colonial-era buildings that ooze history. Located in the Andes at 2,600 m.a.s.l., the city offers spring-like daytime temperatures all year round. In Medellín, you can experience the city’s fascinating transformation from drug cartel capital to innovative metropolis. And in the Coffee Region, you’ll see scenic, lush landscapes and gain an insight into coffee production on a coffee farm.
February is also a good time to trek to the impressive Lost City, built by the Tayrona people in around 800 AD. At this time of year, the trails are dry, making it easier to hike.

As an Asian destination, Laos receives fewer visitors than Thailand and Vietnam, for example, but is nevertheless a completely unique travel destination. February is in the middle of the dry season, which generally means many hours of sunshine and very little rainfall.
In Laos, you’ll find fairy-tale landscapes and welcoming local people.
Explore the former royal city of Luang Prabang, lined with French colonial buildings with Laotian features.
You can also enjoy nature on a boat trip on the Mekong River or a visit to the scenic Kuang Si Falls.

February is a popular month to travel to Kenya. It might be dry season, but the landscapes are still lush after the rainy season in November and December.
The hot, dry weather means that there are fewer places where the animals can drink water. So, they gather around the few places that they can find it, making it easier for visitors to spot them.
There’s also plenty of opportunity to see Kenya’s exciting birdlife in February. The winter in Europe causes the birds to migrate south and spend the winter in warmer climes, including in Kenya.
And last but not least, Kenya offers fantastic beach holidays at Diani Beach, near Mombasa, where you can relax on the white sandy beaches or snorkel at the wonderful coral reef.

Thailand is a dream destination all year round. In February, it’s dry season with warm temperatures and plentiful hours of sunshine. Temperatures have not yet reached their absolute highs, so February is hot, but not too hot!
