Amazon Tupana Jungle Lodge is an authentic jungle lodge located in the middle of the lush Amazon rainforest, where unforgettable nature experiences await you. The lodge is surrounded by an exceptional biodiversity, giving you a unique opportunity to experience one of the world’s most exciting ecosystems.
From Manaus, it takes about 4 hours to get to the lodge, and you arrive by boat and car. The transport to the lodge is the beginning of your Amazonian adventure. Here you will experience both the stunning nature along the rivers and get an exciting insight into the daily life of the people who live in this part of Brazil.
On arrival at the lodge, you will be offered a refreshing welcome drink and be allocated your room. The lodge has just 18 rustic rooms, and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The rooms are built of wood from the area, which harmonises well with the surrounding nature. The rooms are simply furnished, but nice and clean, and they have everything you need; a bed, ceiling fan and en-suite bathroom with naturally heated water. In addition, the windows are fitted with mosquito nets, although the high pH value in the Tupana River makes it difficult for mosquitoes to breed, which means that mosquitoes are not a problem here for most of the year.
It is possible to upgrade to a room with a river view or to an ‘Oca’ bungalow with slightly more comfort and also with a river view.
The lodge gets electricity from its own generator, which is switched on from 12:00–15:00 and 18:00–08:00 (times may vary). There is no Wi-Fi at the lodge, allowing you to commune with nature and get the authentic Amazonian experience.
Your meals are served as a buffet in the lodge’s restaurant. You can enjoy your food both inside and outside on the terrace. From here you get a beautiful view over the river and the lush rainforest.
After your experiences in the jungle, you can enjoy the area around the lodge, where, in addition to the restaurant, you will find a sun terrace, a communal lounge with various games and a cozy garden. You can also take a swim in the river, and you may be lucky enough to see one of the river dolphins that often stay in the area. There are also kayaks at your disposal if you want to paddle out on an adventure on your own.
The lodge has great focus on sustainability and takes many different measures aimed at ensuring that the running of the lodge has as little environmental impact as possible.
Please note that it is not possible to pay by credit card out here, so bring enough cash in BRL for your stay (beverages and tipping).
