Cooking course with the locals in Uruguai

Get up close to the community in Uruguai and delve into Brazilian cuisine on this excursion. Learn how to prepare traditional dishes alongside local women from the association ‘Cooks & Confectioners,’ who are eager to share their culinary knowledge and passion for food with you.

The tour begins with a drive of around 30 minutes from the Salvador city centre to the suburb of Uruguai. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a brief presentation about the association and the exciting projects they have developed.

Next, the tour heads to the local market to purchase ingredients for the day’s cooking class. You will learn how to make ‘moqueca,’ a local fish and seafood stew, as well as a typical dessert.

Everyone pitches in to prepare the meal, providing a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture in a new and engaging way. Once the meal is ready, you can enjoy a delicious meal together with the local women from the association and your guide.
