Half day sightseeing tour on foot in Phnom Penh
On this sightseeing tour on foot in Phnom Penh, the focus is on the city’s old and iconic buildings, particularly the beautiful buildings of the French colonial era and the Art Deco period.
You will be picked up by the guide from the hotel and walk through the bustling streets to the promenade along the Tonle Sap River. Here, you can enjoy some of the city’s best preserved colonial-style buildings such as the Old Post Office, the National Library and the Raffles building (Raffles Hotel). The tour continues to the indoor market, Phsar Thmey, also known as the new/central market. The building is characterised by its large domed hall, which is believed to be one of the 10 largest domes in the world. The large dome is designed with good ventilation in mind, and the temperature is always comfortable and cool here. In the market, you will find a wealth of small stalls selling sold gold, silver, antiques, clothing and food. The guide takes you around among the stalls and tells you about the everyday life of the Cambodians. You then head back to your hotel by tuk tuk.
