Half-day trip to Banteay Srei & Banteay Samre temples
You are picked up at your hotel and drive for about 1 hour out of Siem Reap to the Banteay Srei Temple, which is also called the Pink Temple. This temple is considered a jewel among the Angkor temples. It is among the smallest of its kind; but is truly well-preserved and is home to some of the world’s finest and most beautiful carvings in pink sandstone. It houses two lavishly decorated libraries as well as many hundreds of figures and gods carved into the walls, depicting scenes from Hindu history. From here, the trip continues to the small temple of Banteay Samre, which in many ways is reminiscent of Angkor Wat – particularly in the style of the towers and the balustrades. After you have enjoyed the beauty of the temples, the trip takes you back to your hotel.
This trip can be made either in the morning or in the afternoon.
