Learn about Khmer life in Trei Nhoar

Our partner in Cambodia has carefully selected the idyllic village of Trei Nhoar as one of their support projects, and TourCompass would, of course, like to support this. 

In the village, authentic charm and culture await, where you learn new skills and get a unique insight into daily life in a traditional Khmer village. 

From your hotel, you head to the picturesque village, which is nestled in the heart of the tranquil Cambodian countryside southeast of Siem Reap. On arrival, your guide will welcome you and introduce you to the village and its inhabitants, who are known for their hospitality and warmth.  

Your day offers a variety of activities that will enable you to immerse yourself in the Khmer culture and their traditions. You can try your hand at basket weaving, where you learn how to create functional baskets using traditional techniques, or help to recycle plastic, an activity that is not only fun, but also important for the environment and the sustainable development of the local community. You can also learn how to make Khmer pastries, a sweet and tasty delicacy that you can enjoy with the villagers. 

Lunch is served in a familiar setting, where you can taste authentic Khmer dishes while enjoying the fellowship of and conversations with your new acquaintances from the village. 

After lunch, the tour continues to a nearby Buddhist temple. Here, you will observe a traditional Khmer blessing performed by a Buddhist monk, and which will give you a unique insight into the local religious practices and beliefs.  

Then the trip goes back to your hotel, where the rest of the day is at your leisure.
