Hiking trip through Torres del Paine National Park
This excursion takes you to some of the most famous attractions in the scenic surroundings of the national park.
You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Laguna Amarga, which serves as the entrance to Torres del Paine National Park. From here, the hike proceeds through the Ascencio Valley, which runs through a beautiful lenga forest and crosses the bridge over the Ascencio River, which borders Mount Almirante Nieto.
Along the route, you cross ice-cold mountain streams and walk along moraines deposited by glaciers over time. The last section takes you upwards and is very uneven, and on some parts of the route there are very steep drops, which can be hard on the knees. But the rewards are great when you reach the “Base de Las Torres” at the foot of the vertical granite towers, Torres del Paine, after which the national park is named. Here, you eat you packed lunch and have the opportunity to take photos of the amazing landscape before heading back the same way again. After a long day’s hiking, you will be driven back to your hotel.
