Aura Hotel Barú

Aura Hotel Barú is a small, charming hotel filled with Caribbean allure, located on the beautiful Barú peninsula, about a 1.5 hours drive south of Cartagena.

Nestled in a tropical garden surrounded by palm trees and mangrove forest, the hotel boasts its own private beach, offering the joy of waking up to turquoise waters and the gentle sound of waves lapping at the shore.

The hotel features just 19 rooms, simply furnished but clean and well-kept, all equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a minibar, and private bathrooms with toiletries.

Aside from the hotel’s own guests, day visitors can also be present throughout the day. Many hotels on Barú offer a ‘day pass,’ allowing paid access to the hotel facilities and restaurant during the day, with day visitors returning to Cartagena in the afternoon.

Sun loungers are freely available, perfect for relaxing after a swim in the warm sea or the small swimming pool. You can also rent kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for self-guided excursions.

The hotel organises various tours, including trips to nearby beaches and islands, as well as to the small local town of Barú, which can be booked on-site.
