City tour of Santa Marta

Enjoy a guided excursion to Santa Marta’s highlights, including the hacienda Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, where Simón Bolívar spent his last days before his death in 1830. Several monuments have been erected here to commemorate his amazing accomplishments, which were to free Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia free from the Spanish.

You will also pass the statue of the great footballer Carlos Valderrama, better known as El Pibe. The Colombians are so proud of him that they have had a large bronze statue of him made, which stands in front of Santa Marta’s football stadium.

At the Tayrona Museum, you gain a fascinating insight into Santa Marta and the surrounding area’s history. The museum houses beautiful, well-preserved ceramics, jewellery and gold items from the native Tayrona Indians.

You will also visit Santa Marta Bay and Santa Marta’s most popular beach El Rodadero.
