Excursion to a coffee farm at Minca
Colombia is world-famous for its coffee! Head up into the Sierra Nevada mountains and visit the La Victoria coffee farm and learn about the complicated process of making good coffee.
Around 20 km north of Santa Marta is the small village of Minca. The drive up there is via winding mountain roads through stunning, lush, green countryside. Minca attracts locals and tourists alike with its cosy atmosphere and its slightly cooler climate than the coastal towns.
A little outside Minca is the La Victoria coffee farm, where you will enjoy an exciting tour and look at the entire process from the handpicking of the coffee beans to the finished product being ready on the table. It goes without saying that you have the chance to sample the delicious coffee and the opportunity to buy some to take home with you.
A stop is made at the small waterfall Pozo Azul, where you can go for a refreshing dip in the Minca River (remember your swimwear!) before heading back to Santa Marta.
