Excursion to Tayrona National Park

A little north of Santa Marta is the popular Tayrona National Park. The 150 km2 park offers lush jungle and exciting flora and fauna. Among other things, you may be lucky enough to see several kinds of monkeys and exotic birds. From the entrance of the national park, you will walk for approx. 1.5 hours out to the beautiful golden beaches on the Caribbean coast.

You cannot swim at all beaches due to the current, but at La Piscina, there is time to relax and enjoy a refreshing dip (remember your swimwear!). If you’d rather walk a little further, you can continue to the popular and very busy beach (in high season), Cabo San Juan, which is another 30 minutes away. Please note that if you choose to go to Cabo San Juan, there is a little less time to relax and swim.

In the afternoon, you will be driven back to your hotel in Santa Marta.

PLEASE NOTE: To conserve its unique flora and fauna, the National Park will be closed to visitors from 1–15 February, from 1–15 June and from 19 October to 2 November.

Duration: approx. 6-7 hours
