Laguna Lodge is beautifully situated in the heart of Tortuguero National Park on a narrow isthmus between Tortuguero’s main lagoon and the Caribbean Sea.
The lodge has 110 simply furnished rustic rooms, but all with their own toilet/shower, ceiling fan, safe and small terrace overlooking the lush garden.
Tortuguero offers fantastic canals, rivers and wetlands which are home to many exciting species of animals and exotic plants. When you are not on an excursion, you can relax in the lodge’s beautiful grounds, hop in the pool, go for a walk along the small paths in the area, visit the frog pond or just relax and enjoy a drink at the bar. There is also a small souvenir shop and coffee shop on site. You can also stroll down to the beach on your own, but please note that it is not permitted to swim from the beach due to undercurrents.
The restaurant at Laguna Lodge offers authentic culinary experiences with nature on the doorstep. It serves a variety of local and international dishes made from fresh local ingredients. The food is served in the open-plan dining areas overlooking the lush jungle and lagoon. Wi-Fi is available in the lobby and restaurant.
In addition to the activities included in your stay, guests can purchase extra activities at the lodge such as a hike to Tortuguero Hill, a kayak trip on the rivers, a night walk on the beach to watch the turtles lay their eggs (about July-October) and a beach walk when the eggs hatch (about September-November).
