Arenal volcano and the hot springs (afternoon)

Experience the impressive Arenal volcano, explore the area around it, and treat yourself to a fabulous wellness experience in Arenal’s hot springs.

You will be picked up from the hotel and driven to a private reserve close to Arenal Volcano, where your guide will take you on a short walk of around a kilometre up to a lookout point from which you can enjoy a great view of the volcano, Laguna Verde and Lake Arenal. Your guide will also tell you all about the history of the volcano.

Afterwards, you will go for a walk in the wooded area at the foot of the volcano, where you will learn about the special flora and fauna of the area. You may be lucky enough to see monkeys, sloths and exotic birds such as toucans and peacocks on the short walk.

Then it’s time to relax in Arenal’s hot springs, which are naturally heated by the volcanic activity in the area. The water is 37–41 degrees, so you can look forward to a natural wellness experience.

After relaxing in the hot springs, you dress for dinner (included), which you enjoy in the scenic surroundings before being driven back to the hotel.

Remember to bring: We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes or boots, and bring swimwear, towels and a camera.

Please note: The minimum age for participation in the Arenal Volcano hike is 8. If you are travelling with children under the age of 8, you will go on a boat trip on Lake Arenal instead of the hike, and a guide will tell you all about the history of the volcano. There is a small supplement for this tour.
