Bike ride around Lake Arenal (morning)

Come on an active bike ride in the picturesque scenery of the area around Lake Arenal.

You’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to the starting point of the ride, where you’ll be kitted out with a mountain bike and a bicycle helmet, and meet your guide.

As you pedal through the landscape, you might be lucky enough to see exciting animals such as howler monkeys, coati and a wide variety of birds. You’ll cycle along a combination of asphalt roads and gravel roads/paths. The route is primarily flat, but with small inclines along the way.

You’ll cycle out to a viewpoint overlooking Lake Arenal, where there is time for a break and a small snack in the scenic surroundings, before cycling back to the starting point of the tour.

If you fancy a short swim in the lake, remember to bring your swimwear. Note that you will have to pay an entrance fee to go down to the lake and swim.

The length of the ride is adapted to the group’s level of fitness and the condition of the roads.

Level of difficulty: Beginner – Moderate

Distance: approx. 13–29 km

Duration: approx. 4 hours

The price applies when there are at least 2 people.

Remember to bring: Closed shoes such as trainers are a requirement. We also recommend that you wear breathable clothing that you can move in and a light waterproof jacket. It would also be a good idea to bring a backpack with you to carry a camera, a change of clothes, mosquito repellent, sunscreen and a water bottle. If you’d like to swim in the lake, you should also remember to bring your swimwear, a towel and some cash.

Please note: Children must be at least 120 cm tall to participate. The tour is not recommended for people in poor health or people with back or neck problems.
