Horseback ride to La Fortuna waterfall (morning)

Come on a ride through the beautiful scenery of the Chato volcano. The goal is the impressive 70-metre-high La Fortuna waterfall, where you can swim in the crystal-clear water under the waterfall.

You will ride through beautiful verdant landscapes, while enjoying the scenery and the views of the spectacular Arenal and Chato volcanoes from horseback. Just before you reach the waterfall, you say goodbye to your horse, and the last stretch of the way is on foot through the tropical rainforest. Here, you may be lucky enough to spot monkeys, toucans and other exciting birds that live in the area.

On your arrival at the La Fortuna waterfall, you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the clear waters at the foot of the waterfall, take pictures or simply relax to the sound of the magnificent waterfall.

After a little relaxation at the foot of the beautiful waterfall, you head back towards La Fortuna. En route, there is the possibility of a short visit to the Maleku reserve, where you can see the traditional dress and crafts of the indigenous people.

Remember to bring: We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing, including long trousers, closed shoes and a waterproof jacket and swimwear if you wish to swim at the waterfall. It would also be a good idea to bring a day backpack containing a towel, a change of clothes, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, a water bottle and cash for snacks, tips or souvenirs.
