Kayaking in the mangrove forest

Enjoy an unforgettable experience on this exciting kayaking tour, exploring Costa Rica’s exotic flora and fauna as you paddle through the magical mangrove forest.

Before the adventure starts, you will be kitted out with a life jacket and given instruction in how to paddle a kayak. No kayaking experience is necessary to join this tour.

Your guide then leads you along the waterways through the tropical mangrove forest, which is buzzing with life. As you paddle in the shade of the leaves of the tall, green trees, you learn about the fascinating mangrove trees with their impressive roots, and the exotic flora and fauna that live among the trees.

On your tour, you may be lucky enough to spot curious monkeys looking for adventure, silky anteaters out in search of food, and sloths resting in the mangrove trees, while various sea birds fly over your kayak.

After your adventure in the mangrove forest, you enjoy a traditional Costa Rican meal at a local restaurant in Manuel Antonio before being driven back to your hotel.

Remember to bring: We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes, and bring sunscreen, mosquito repellent and water with you. You should also bring your camera, ideally in a waterproof case to protect it.

Please note: The departure time depends on the tide, and the tour may therefore take place in the morning, at midday or in the afternoon. You will be told the exact time of departure at the start of your tour.
