Rafting on the Savegre River (full-day excursion)
Embark on a rafting tour on one of Costa Rica’s most famous river rafting rivers, the Savegre River, and enjoy an experience you’ll never forget.
You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to a small village with thatched roofs, where a small breakfast will be served before the exciting adventures of the day begin. From here, you head into the mountains, where you will be kitted out with a life jacket, safety helmet and paddle, and given instruction on how to raft and behave on the boat during the trip. There can be 2–6 people in the inflatable boat, and a certified guide will always accompany you.
Your unforgettable adventure then begins. Over the next couple hours, you will float along with the current as you slowly work your way up from the quiet and calm currents to the slightly stronger and rougher, yet still manageable currents.
Along the way, you can enjoy the breathtaking scenery and the beautiful waterfalls and see several of the different animals that live in the area around the Savegre River. You will be able to spot birds such as toucans, parrots, kingfishers, ospreys and herons.
After a ride of around 20 kilometres down the river, you will be driven back to the village, where a well-deserved hot lunch will be served in true Costa Rican fashion. After lunch, you will be driven back to your hotel.
