Your Amazon adventure starts from the moment you arrive at La Casa del Suizo. You will be going on a 15-minute boat ride on the Napo River before arriving at the jungle lodge.
The lodge has 76 spacious, rustic rooms, all of which have a fan, an en suite bathroom and private terrace with a hammock where you can relax and enjoy the lush surroundings. There are mosquito nets on the windows, so you get a natural breeze in the room, while listening to the sounds of the jungle and the rushing river. At night, however, we recommend using earplugs, as the sounds of the rainforest may be louder than you might expect.
There is a safe and Wi-Fi in the reception area.
In the large communal area of the lodge, there is a swimming pool with a children’s pool, a bar with lounge area and a large restaurant, where all meals are served as a delicious, sumptuous buffet. We promise you won’t go home hungry!
Above the restaurant, there is a communal area with games and TV, and from here you can climb further up into a small lookout tower and enjoy a nice panoramic view of the rainforest and the lodge. On a clear day, you can see the Andes mountains and the beautiful, cone-shaped Tungurahua volcano on the horizon.
The stay includes various excursions such as a walk in the rainforest, boat ride on the river and a visit to a small local community where ancient traditions are still kept alive. See how the women make beautiful pots and bowls by hand. All tours are with a skilled local guide, who provides a fascinating insight into how life is lived in the rainforest.
The lodge offers free rental of rubber boots for your excursions.
