Lombok’s nature and culture
On this excursion, you will experience the authentic Lombok and delve into the local culture and unique nature that many visitors rarely experience.
In the afternoon, you will be picked up from your hotel and driven inland towards the village of Gunung Sari. Here, you will make a stop at a local market to experience the local market life. The market is only open in the afternoon, as the products are delivered directly from the villages in the surrounding hilly landscape.
After your visit to the market, you will be driven further up along the winding roads and stop at a traditional rural house, where you will get an insight into daily life in the countryside. Here, the locals’ most frequent livelihood activity is agriculture, where they grow coffee, jackfruits, coconuts, sago or palm sugar. You will have a good opportunity to see how the raw materials are processed for further use.
You will then proceed to Baun Pusuk Pass, the highest point on the winding mountain roads that run from Gunung Sari in the south to Pemenang in the north. From here, you can enjoy spectacular views of valleys, canyons, rivers, tropical forests and small villages scattered among the lush vegetation. Do not forget to give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the sight.
The excursion continues down the mountain towards Bentek and follows the road to Pemenang. Along the way, you can ask the driver to pull over for photo stops at the best viewpoints on the route.
The last stop is made at Malimbu Hill, where you can enjoy the magnificent views of the natural surroundings as the sun sets on the horizon. From here you can also glimpse Mount Agung on Bali and the Gili Islands, which are located like pearls on a string just north of Lombok.
After a few hours in Lombok’s unique nature, you will be driven back to your hotel.
