Snorkelling at Jemeluk Bay in Amed
You will be picked up from the hotel and driven out to Jemeluk Bay, a small bay with Mt Agung towering in the background. Jemeluk is one of the very best snorkelling spots in the area with calm water thanks to the crescent shape of the bay.
Upon your arrival at the beach in Jemeluk Bay you’ll be issued with snorkelling gear, and the guide will tell you what to do underwater. If you haven’t snorkelled before, the guide will, of course, instruct you on how the mask, snorkel and flippers work. Remember to apply sunscreen or wear a UV top, as you’ll be swimming around on the surface for several hours.
From the dark volcanic beach, you make your way out into the sea where, just 20–70 metres from the water’s edge, a fantastic, colourful world of corals, sea fans, tropical fish in all the colours of the rainbow, sea turtles and, amazingly, an underwater temple and statues opens up. Your guide will show you around in the water and point out all the beautiful fish.
After a fantastic day under the sea, lunch will be served at a local restaurant near the beach. You will be driven back to the hotel in the afternoon.
