Sunset at the Uluwatu Temple with Kecak Fire Dance
On this afternoon excursion, the most beautiful views and sunset await you at Uluwatu Temple, not to mention the breathtaking and theatrical Kecak dance, also known as the fire dance or the monkey dance.
You will be picked up from your hotel in the afternoon and driven to one of Bali’s most famous temples, Pura Luhur Uluwatu, located on a cliff ledge, 76 m above sea level with stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Feel your stomach lurch as you stand at the top along the wall and look down into the roaring sea, the spray of the waves crashing against the rock. Archaeological finds date the temple to the 10th century, and it is also one of the most scenic places in Bali to enjoy the sunset. Playful monkeys can be seen in the trees at the entrance to the temple. They are said to protect the temple from evil.
At dusk and sunset, the traditional Balinese Kecak dance is performed by a large group of male dancers. The famous Balinese dance tells the ancient story of King Rahwana, who captures Rama’s wife, Sita. The dance shows the battle between Rahwana and the monkey deity Hanuman.
This experience is a beautiful, dramatic and breathtaking end to the day before you return to your hotel.
