Bento box Cooking school – morning
Bento boxes are the Japanese answer to the lunch box. These are small containers with rice, fish or meat, some vegetables, sushi, etc. You can buy them anywhere, and they make for a perfect lunch. Today you have the chance to learn how to make your own bento box. You start in the Japanese way, with a cup of green tea and a quick introduction with the chefs, who speak good English.
An important part of Japanese cooking is the right stock for your miso soup – the dashi, so this is the natural first step. Afterwards, under the expert guidance of the chefs, you learn how to prepare 4-5 dishes for your own bento box – that you will enjoy at the end of the tour with the other event participants.
For vegetarians, meat and fish will be replaced with vegetables.
On this excursion, you will have to make your own way to the collection point. Information on how to get there can be found in the welcome pack given to you on your arrival in Japan.
This excursion is open to TourCompass’ own guests only.
We recommend that you book the excursion when booking the tour.
