Get up close to the giraffes in the Giraffe Centre
Did you know that no two giraffes have the same pattern? Just like human fingerprints, each giraffe’s pattern is completely unique. If you want to experience these elegant creatures up close, the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi is the perfect place. Founded by the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife (A.F.E.W. Kenya), the centre is dedicated to educating Kenyan schoolchildren and young people about the country’s wildlife and environment, while also providing visitors from all over the world with a rare opportunity to enjoy the sight of the world’s tallest mammal up close.
After your encounter with the giraffes, you can enjoy a relaxing walk along the centre’s scenic hiking path, where you can experience a rich bird life and perhaps even spot the tiny and often rather shy dik-dik antelope.
