On this tour, you experience the biggest highlights of Kenya; Amboseli, Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara. The tour concludes with a relaxing holiday on the exotic island of Zanzibar.
On this tour, we have combined the adventure in Kenya with relaxation at the end.
First, a safari awaits you in one of Kenya’s smallest national parks. Amboseli offers beautiful views of the snow-capped Kilimanjaro. The climate here is dry and the vegetation sparse, and it is therefore easy to spot the wild animals.
From here, the tour goes through Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. A boat trip awaits you on the lake, which is especially known for its hippos and rich wildlife.
In the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, you can get close to The Big 5 and all kinds of prey. There is also the opportunity to visit the tall, red-clad Maasai in their villages.
After this adventure, it is time to relax on wonderful Zanzibar. Here you can enjoy the chalk-white sandy beaches, explore the historic Stone Town, sample the island’s spices and exotic fruits, take a boat trip in a traditional Dhow or explore Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park.
Today is departure day, and you will be flying to Kenya with connecting flight(s) on the way.
On your arrival in Kenya, you will be met at the airport and driven to your hotel, where you will stay for one night.
If you land already in the morning, you can choose to purchase one of our below excursions as an add-on, so that you can start experiencing Kenya already on your day of arrival. You may also simply want to relax at the hotel, where there is, of course, a pool. In the evening, you can visit the world-famous Carnivore Restaurant.
After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel. The tour heads south towards Amboseli National Park, where you will have lunch at your hotel. In the afternoon, the first game drive of the tour awaits you – with stunning views of Kilimanjaro.
Amboseli National Park might be one of Kenya’s smallest, but great experiences await you here. The park is especially famous for its large herds of elephants, many of which have huge tusks. The sparse vegetation in Amboseli makes it easier to spot the wild animals. If you’re interested in birds, you won’t be disappointed in Amboseli, as parts of the park remain swamp-like all year round. You have a packed lunch with you today, which allows you to spend the whole day in the park.
It is time to take one last look at Kilimanjaro – and perhaps give a little nod to those who are right now standing at the top of the mountain on the Tanzania side.
From the morning, you head towards Nairobi, where you will make a lunch stop before the tour continues via the hilly landscape around Great Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha.
Along the way, you will make a stop at a belvedere (if the weather is clear), from which there are phenomenal views of the spectacular Great Rift Valley, which stretches all the way through the African continent from the Middle East to Mozambique.
You will arrive at Lake Naivasha in the afternoon, and you can spend the rest of the day enjoying the lodge and the tranquil natural surroundings by the lake.
Lake Naivasha, which is a freshwater lake, is located at the highest point of Great Rift Valley at 1890 metres above sea level. A boat trip on the lake is one of the big highlights – and that is exactly how you will start your morning. The area is known for hippos, giraffes, waterbucks, velvet monkeys and a rich and varied bird life with both resident and migratory birds.
Past noon, the tour heads towards Masai Mara. It is a long drive, but it gives you a really good insight into how life is lived in rural Kenya. Lean back in your seat and enjoy the landscapes and villages that whizz past the windows. Remember that the car is equipped with both Wi-Fi and electricity, which means that you can share holiday photos with those at home.
You will first drive past the ancient volcano Longnot. From here, you will turn westwards and head into Maasai country. Along the way, you will see lots of men dressed in the festive red plaid. The Maasai have no tradition for cultivating the land, but they have cattle that graze among giraffes, zebras and other herbivores of the savannah.
Depending on the time and traffic, there will be a short stop in Narok, the capital of the Maasai. The villages outside the windows are gradually replaced by more and more wildlife, and you know that Masai Mara is just around the corner.
There will be an opportunity to visit a Maasai village during the drive. You must agree this with your guide. It costs USD 25 per person (not included in the tour price), payable directly to the Maasai.
The entire day is devoted to a game drive in Masai Mara game reserve. You will often be given a packed lunch to eat along the way, allowing you to make the most of your time. It’s impossible to say what you’ll see on a game drive, but we can almost guarantee large herds of elephants, wildebeest, zebras, hippos, gazelles and buffaloes. And with prey come the predators: lions, hyenas, cheetahs and leopards. But remember to keep an eye out for the smaller animals. A profusion of birds and colourful lizards are hiding in the bushes.
You will get right up close to a host of animals, which you experience from the protection of the Land Cruiser.
From July to October, you can experience the 1,200 km long migration of more than one million wildebeest along with a couple of hundred thousand zebras plus countless Thomson’s gazelles. It is during this migration that many gazelles fall victim to the huge Nile crocodiles when crossing the Mara River.
After breakfast, you will leave Masai Mara’s amazing wildlife and return to Nairobi, where you head for your relaxing beach holiday in Zanzibar.
On your arrival in Zanzibar, you will be picked up by our local partner and driven to your hotel.
It is possible to purchase a direct flight from Masai Mara to Nairobi to avoid the drive. Contact us for a price.
The days in Zanzibar are yours to do as you please.
Located in the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar consists of the main islands of Unguja (unofficially known as Zanzibar) and Pemba, as well as myriad small islands. When it comes to nature and culture, the island of Zanzibar is truly spoilt: white sandy beaches, azure sea and a stunning coral reef. A hot and sunny climate all year round. The island’s dramatic history features Arab sultans, Portuguese seafarers, slave trade and European explorers, all of which have left their mark on the island. And one of Africa’s most exciting cities, packed with beautiful Arabic architecture. Not forgetting the delicious Swahili cuisine and the friendly people.
You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the airport, from which your journey home begins, with connecting flight(s) along the way.
You land in the UK after an exciting holiday.

If you love Marrakesh, you’ll love Stone Town too. Narrow, winding streets without pavements, constant swarms of children and adults, bicycles, donkeys and merchants peddling everything in small shops sitting right out into the road. At the square’s “barazas” (built-in benches) in the middle of the labyrinth, men sit and talk over cups of strong coffee while children play ball and a cat stretches lazily in the sun.
At first sight, the city looks quite ramshackle, but just take a look at the doors! The big, heavy, elaborately decorated wooden doors are in many ways synonymous with Zanzibar’s biggest city.
There are markets and museums here, plenty of excursion opportunities and a vibrant waterfront. During the day, the waterfront is well-frequented by locals taking strolls, young men making trips from the quay as well as fishing and tourist boats both arriving and setting off. In the evening, there is a local market here.
Stone Town is in many ways practically an experience of the senses. Here you will find smells and sounds, flavours, colours, history and culture – Stone Town has it all. It is no mystery that the town is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
