Half-day excursion with kayaking and visit to the Bidayuh Tribe
On this excursion, some wonderful hours await you in scenic surroundings along the Sarawak River, where you will experience part of the wild nature of Borneo.
After breakfast, you will meet your guide in the hotel lobby and be driven towards the northern branches of the Sarawak River. Here, you will get ready to jump into your kayak with Sarawak’s breathtaking nature as a backdrop. In the water, you will set the pace yourself, as you paddle past dramatic limestone formations and the lush trees of the rainforest along the shore. The atmosphere is shrouded in tranquillity and enchantment.
Along the way, you will also have the opportunity to explore the flora and fauna of the rainforest on foot. Here, you can, for example, experience the fascinating carnivorous plant, Nepenthes, and, with a little luck, spot the rainforest’s monkey species, birds, and reptiles. Your guide will also show you life in a traditional Bidayuh village, where you will learn about the various fresh herbs, spices, vegetables, and fruits used in the tribe’s cooking.
After the morning’s activities, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the river, followed by lunch served on an idyllic sand bank. Here, you can relax while enjoying the views and silence of the beautiful surrounding landscape.
Afterwards, you will be driven back to your hotel, sated with experiences and impressions from Sarawak’s wild nature.
