Visit to Mari Mari Cultural Village

Join us on a cultural excursion to the exciting village museum, Mari Mari Cultural Village, located a short drive from everyday life in Kota Kinabalu.

After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and driven to Mari Mari Cultural Village, where, upon arrival, you will be taken on a journey back in time to traditional Borneo. Here, you will move through the village, visiting the many traditional longhouses, each representing one of the village’s five different tribes.

Each tribe forms an important part of Sabah’s cultural history. From the skilled farmers and traders of the Dusun and Rungus tribes to the inventive hunters and fishermen of the Lundayeh people, without forgetting the adventurous cowboys and sea gypsies of the Bajau tribe and the legendary Murut warrior tribe, you will be introduced to all of them and invited to experience their unique traditions and customs.

Immerse yourself in activities such as making blowpipes, the ancient art of making a fire, and the symbolic expressions of traditional tattoo art. Each experience brings you closer to the natural lifestyle that has shaped Sabah’s culture for generations.

In conclusion, you will be served a traditional lunch and watch the tribes perform traditional dance forms.
