Today, you will embark on your journey to Malaysia. Departure takes place from your chosen airport, with connecting flights along the way.
Welcome to Malaysia’s vibrant capital, Kuala Lumpur, where modern marvels and a rich cultural history converge in a kaleidoscope of colours, sounds, and scents.
Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, you will pass through immigration and collect your luggage. Your driver will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall with a TourCompass sign, ready to transfer you to your hotel in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.
After checking in, perhaps the hotel’s pool will tempt you for a relaxing start to your tour? In the evening, you can explore the lively surroundings of your hotel, where everything is within reach, including an impressive array of dining options.
You’ll then enjoy a well-deserved night’s sleep before Kuala Lumpur’s attractions beckon tomorrow.
After breakfast, look forward to an exciting city tour in the centre of Kuala Lumpur, where you’ll discover the city’s major attractions.
You’ll be picked up from your hotel, with the first stop of the day at the vibrant Golden Triangle area, bordered by the main roads Jalan Imbi, Jalan Sultan Ismail, and Jalan Raja Chulan. Today, the area is considered the city’s key shopping and entertainment district, with the peaceful KLCC Park and the iconic Petronas Twin Towers as its neighbours.
Next, admire the architectural contrast between the Petronas Twin Towers and the following stop on the tour, Central Market, a cultural marketplace in the heart of the city. Built in 1888 as a wet market, Central Market is now one of the most visited markets in the city, attracting locals and travellers keen on experiencing Malaysian culture. Here, you can find local crafts such as batik, wood carvings, ceramics, and artwork that represent Kuala Lumpur’s diverse ethnicities.
The tour continues to the Sultan Abdul Samad Building, a historical and stunning structure situated opposite Merdeka Square. The building showcases Moorish architecture with arched entrances and a 41.2-metre-high clock tower, elegantly topped with a copper dome. Originally, it housed the British colonial administration, and after Malaysia’s independence in 1957, it has been used as office space for various ministries and courts. Today, it is a significant symbol of Malaysia’s history and culture and is often used for official ceremonies and events, such as Independence Day: Merdeka.
You will then visit the Royal Palace, the Istana Negara, which is the official residence of the King of Malaysia. This magnificent building combines traditional and modern styles, featuring golden domes and beautifully landscaped gardens, offering a green oasis amidst the city’s hustle and bustle.
Lastly, you’ll visit the National Mosque, the Masjid Negara, one of the country’s most significant religious buildings and an excellent example of modern Islamic architecture. Designed by architect Howard Ashley, its most distinctive feature is its blue, star-shaped dome symbolising the five pillars of Islam. The mosque is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens with reflective pools and fountains, contributing to a peaceful atmosphere.
After experiencing some of Kuala Lumpur’s exciting sights, you’ll be driven back to your hotel, where the remainder of the day can be enjoyed at your leisure.
Based on your hotel’s prime location in the bustling heart of the city, you can easily plan your day at your own pace. Within walking distance, you’ll find landmarks like the iconic Petronas Towers, which rise as two gleaming beacons of steel and glass. During the day, they reflect the sunlight, and at night, they sparkle like diamonds, presenting a majestic view best enjoyed from one of the city’s many sky bars.
Just around the corner, you’re met with a plethora of luxury shopping centres and bustling night markets, making Kuala Lumpur a true shopping paradise and one of Asia’s leading shopping destinations. Choose from shopping hotspots like Bukit Bintang, Mid Valley Megamall, The Gardens Mall, Central Market, and Petaling Street, which draw visitors from all over the world.
Walking through Kuala Lumpur, you can explore each neighbourhood with its unique character. Here, stories unfold about a city with remarkable cultural diversity and harmony, where Malaysian, Chinese, and Indian cultures coexist side by side. This diversity creates a vibrant tapestry of colourful traditions and contemporary innovations, making Kuala Lumpur one of Asia’s most exciting cities. Be sure to visit Kampung Baru, with its charming wooden houses, traditional food stalls, and authentic atmosphere, standing in stark contrast to the surrounding modern buildings and skyscrapers.
You can also hit the pause button and immerse yourself in the green oasis of Kuala Lumpur, the Perdana Botanical Gardens. Here, you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by many fragrant flowers and an impressive array of birdlife. Another magnificent natural experience awaits you at the Batu Caves, just outside the city centre. Here, a massive limestone cave adorned with vibrant Hindu temples, guarded by the colossal statue of Lord Murugan, beckons. Climbing the many rainbow-hued steps to the top, as you are slowly enveloped by the whispers of history and the cave’s cool air, is an experience worthy of a place in your memory book.
In the evening, the air fills with the tantalising aromas from the many street food vendors in Kuala Lumpur, where succulent satay skewers are grilled over open flames. The distinctive scent of freshly squeezed lime might entice you to sample some of the local cuisine’s rich, spicy soups, lightened by a tangy twist.
Today, you will bid farewell to Malaysia’s capital and journey south to the historic city of Malacca, a drive of approximately 2 hours.
Upon arrival, embark on a historical tour through Malacca, a city that in the 15th century was one of Southeast Asia’s greatest empires and is now listed as a UNESCO world heritage site due to its old town. Discover the ruins of Southeast Asia’s oldest European colonial buildings, feeling the history come alive. Among these is the impressive Portuguese fortress A Famosa, built in 1511 as a defence for the Portuguese colony. Over time, A Famosa changed hands multiple times after fierce battles with other great powers, and today, much of the fortress lies in ruins.
At the top of St. Paul’s Hill, explore the ruins of St. Paul’s Church, one of the region’s oldest churches and a vital component of the city’s historical legacy. Originally constructed in 1521 by the Portuguese captain Duarte Coelho, the church served as a Catholic worship site under Portuguese rule. Enjoy a sweeping view of Malacca from the hilltop.
Next, continue your journey to the charming Dutch Square, surrounded by blooming gardens, wrought iron lampposts, and the eye-catching red-coloured buildings. Here, you can visit the 300-year-old Dutch Church, the oldest Protestant church in Malaysia.
After crossing the Malacca River, you will reach the city’s historical heart, the Street of Harmony. Encounter cultural landmarks such as the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Kampung Kling Mosque, and the Arulmigu Poyyatha Vinayaga Moorthy Temple, each offering a unique glimpse into Malaysia’s diverse cultural heritage. Enjoy a delightful lunch, prepared by following Malacca’s rich culinary traditions.
With your taste buds satisfied, the tour continues as you board a small, covered boat for a 40-minute cruise along the historical routes of the Malacca River. Since the 15th century, the river has been a pivotal trade hub for all of Southeast Asia. Today, it offers a different perspective on Malacca’s charming cityscape. Sit back and enjoy the sights of cobbled streets, ancient bridges, and colourful merchant houses as you glide along.
After the boat tour, visit the traditional Malay village Kampung Morten. Here, you can explore the charming Villa Sentosa, now serving as a living museum. The house is almost perfectly preserved with a treasure trove of period furniture, photographs, porcelain, and antiques, each narrating stories of the house’s and village’s past.
Round off the day’s historical events at Malacca’s oldest bar, Sin Hiap Hin, brimming with rustic charm. Savour the atmosphere and one of the flavourful drinks before being transported to your hotel for check-in.
The evening is free to enjoy at your leisure.
Today, no excursions are planned, allowing you a great opportunity to make your own mark on your stay in the city, which holds more experiences than you could possibly explore during yesterday’s tour.
You might choose to discover Malacca’s hidden gems and be charmed by its historical allure. In the charming streets of the city’s Chinatown, you’ll find Jonker Walk, with its colourful cafés offering a good cup of coffee and a freshly baked piece of cake.
The Malacca River promenade also invites you to stroll where you can discover small art installations and beautiful murals narrating the city’s multicultural past. Along the way, you can glimpse local life and the vibrant atmosphere surrounding many traditional wooden houses. A slight detour from the promenade can lead you to No. 8 Heeren Street Heritage Centre, a well-preserved Peranakan home where you can learn about the fascinating Peranakan culture.
You could also explore the local artisan shops and markets, where you can purchase everything from batik prints to antiques.
Or perhaps a visit to the small village of Kampung Chetti, which offers an exciting and unique insight into Chetti culture? The village is inhabited by Chetti people, descendants of former Indian traders who settled in the area and married locals. The houses here are simple and traditional, often decorated with distinctive carvings and colourful details, reflecting the community’s rich heritage.
When hunger strikes, dive into Malacca’s charming restaurants, where you can enjoy an authentic Peranakan dinner while reflecting on the city’s many impressions.
Today, you will bid farewell to the whispers of history and set course for Tioman Island. You’ll be collected from your hotel and driven to Mersing on Malaysia’s southeast coast, a journey of approximately 3.5 hours. From there, you will be ferried to the tropical holiday paradise.
The ferry ride takes around 2 hours and will bring you directly to your beachfront resort. After check-in, you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon by the pool or on the powdery-soft, sandy beach, allowing yourself to become accustomed to the tranquil island life.
Your days on Tioman Island are at your disposal, and it’s entirely up to you how to spend them.
Tioman Island is, in every way, a charming island. It is relatively large, but it offers a less developed road network and a centrally located mountain, making it somewhat less accessible. However, this isn’t a disadvantage, as it enhances the feeling of a remote island where you can enjoy your days in peace and tranquillity without disturbances.
The beach in front of your resort will be your sanctuary, where you can settle in with a good book and enjoy the calmness of the sea. If you wish for more than lounging, there are both rainforests and waterfalls here that are worth visiting. Still, Tioman Island is best known for its exceptional marine life, so it’s worth fetching your snorkel mask and spending time in the inviting waters. You might encounter a plethora of colourful corals and superb marine life, including the chance to see small reef sharks and large sea turtles.
Your evenings on Tioman Island can be spent relaxing with a leisurely stroll along the beach, immersing yourself in the warm hues of the sunset.
Today, unfortunately, it’s time to say goodbye to Malaysia, but you’ll carry your newly-made memories with you as a keepsake forever.
Well ahead of your flight departure, you’ll be collected from your resort and ferried back to the mainland. From there, you’ll enjoy a 3-hour drive to Singapore, from where you’ll fly back to Europe, with connecting flight(s) along the way.
You will land at your chosen airport after a memorable and simultaneously relaxing tour.

Covering an area of just 721.5 km2, the island state is South-east Asia’s smallest country, and what the small, well-developed country lacks in size, it more than makes up for in experiences.
Look forward to experiencing the architectural Marina Bay Sands, stroll around the green oasis Gardens by the Bay, shop to your heart’s content on Orchard Road, drink Singapore Slings at Raffles Hotel and ride in the 165-metre-high ferris wheel, the Singapore Flyer, which offers a phenomenal view of all the futuristic skyscrapers and the harbour.
What also makes Singapore so cool is that it is a melting pot of cultures, and people live with respect for and an understanding of one another, with Buddhist temples, mosques, churches and Hindu temples side by side. Singapore’s diversity can be experienced in the charming districts of Little India, China Town and the Arabic and Malay quarter, Kampong Glam. Soak in the atmosphere while being seduced by the wonderful, colourful buildings and the aroma of spices and jasmine.
The multicultural community is also reflected in the many culinary delights on offer around the city.
