Joy Island

Joy Island

It feels like a dream when you arrive at Joy Island. White sandy beaches, crystal-clear water and coconut palms swaying in the gentle tropical breeze. Welcome to paradise!

This luxurious island is shaped like a butterfly and is situated around a 40-minute speed boat ride away from Malé.

The beach villa is 50 m2 and sleeps either 2 adults and 1 child or 3 adults. They are all located on the east side of the island, allowing you to wake up to the beautiful sunrise. The rooms are all decorated in fresh colours and tones that complement the surroundings of the Maldives. They all offer an “open-air” shower. As the icing on the cake, the villa has direct access to the white sandy beach.

Joy Island gives you a sense of inner peace and you’ll experience what it really means to unwind. Feel the calm descend as soon as you feel the sand between your toes and hear the sound of the waves gently lapping the shore. Find your favourite palm tree and make yourself comfortable on a sun lounger.

If you’re worried that there will be a little too much relaxation, fear not! You won’t get bored here. The resort offers a multitude of activities for you to try, including a tennis court, padel tennis court, own diving and water sports centre offering all manner of equipment and professional instructors who are on hand to help. Put on a diving mask and a pair of flippers and prepare to experience a whole new wondrous world of brightly coloured fish and beautiful corals. The house reef is just a short swim from the beach. You also have the option of a boat trip to visit some of the nearby islands or explore several magnificent coral reefs.

If you need a break from the sea, the resort has a fabulous pool. Quench your thirst with a chilled drink from the bar or hang out by the pool.

If you want to give yourself that little extra treat, Joy Island has its own day spa, were you can pamper your mind, body and soul with a range of therapeutic treatments. Book a facial or make an appointment for a massage while enjoying the stunning view of the turquoise Indian Ocean.

The island offers three places to eat: the main restaurant The Market, which is designed in the style of an outdoor market and offers a wide selection of dishes from all over the world. There are different themes to tantalise your taste buds every day. There is also an Italian pizzeria, Il Basilico, which serves various Italian dishes, and Chiringuito, which is a restaurant and bar combo, which, among other things, dishes up barbecue food. Rainbow is the resort’s main bar and meeting spot, where you can sip on colourful cocktails to the accompaniment of live music and entertainment every night.

In the evening, you can go for a stroll along the water’s edge, enjoying the sunset and watching the colours slowly change.
