Corto Maltes Amazonia lodge is your base for the Amazon adventure you’ll be enjoying over the next few days. Located roughly 7 kilometres up the Madre de Dios River from Puerto Maldonado, the lodge is surrounded by tropical rainforest.
The lodge has 27 comfortable bungalows as well as a “Casa Grande” with 4 separate rooms. All are built in wood and simply appointed, but all have a bed with a mosquito net, an en suite bathroom with hot water, a safe and a private terrace with hammocks, where you can lie and listen to the trickling of the river and the exotic sounds of the jungle.
In the communal area, you’ll find a bar, a small shop and the lodge’s restaurant, where the meals included are served. The food is a mix of international and national dishes, made from locally produced ingredients.
Tea and coffee are always available – even when the restaurant is closed.
If you need a refreshing dip after the day’s exciting excursions, there is a small swimming pool in the lush garden. There is also a pool bar, where you can purchase cold drinks and delicious cocktails.
And why not treat yourself to a massage at the lodge’s day spa?
The lodge is powered by its own generator, which runs from around 07.00-14.00 and 17.00-22.30. All bungalows have LED lamps if you need a light when the generator is turned off.
Wi-Fi is available in the lodge’s communal area when the power is on, but it’s extremely unstable. But hopefully you haven’t come all the way out here to the jungle to be online either – quite the opposite.
Look forward to unforgettable jungle experiences in the world’s largest rainforest – the Amazon!
