Hike to the top of Huchuy Picchu Mountain
Huchuy Picchu Mountain, also called ‘New/Baby Picchu Mountain’, is the lowest of the surrounding mountains, whose peaks rise above the Inca Empire of Machu Picchu. Located at an altitude of about 2,497 metres, it is the ‘easiest’ mountain to climb, but it is still high enough to offer spectacular views from the top.
Overall, the trail to Huchuy Picchu is less steep and more easily accessible, making it a good choice for those who want an easy to moderate hike with beautiful views without the same physical challenges of Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu Mountain.
There is a limit on how many people are allowed to climb Huchuy Picchu Mountain per day, so it is important to book well in advance and always at the same time as you book your tour.
The hike takes place without a guide.
