The following days are free for you to experience Singapore at your own pace. You can explore the city independently or join one of our exciting optional tours, which you can read more about below.
Should you choose to explore on your own, perhaps visit the architectural marvel of the Marina Bay Sands and enjoy a leisurely walk in the verdant oasis of the Gardens by the Bay. From there, you’ll witness remarkable views of the city’s futuristic skyscrapers and the harbour.
What’s also fantastic about Singapore is its rich tapestry of cultures. People live together with mutual respect and understanding, and you’ll find Buddhist temples, mosques, churches, and Hindu temples standing side by side. Make sure to visit the charming neighbourhoods of Little India, Chinatown, and the Malay-Arab Quarter Kampong Glam, where you can soak up the atmosphere and be enchanted by the colourful houses and scents of spices and jasmine.
This multicultural community is also evident in the city’s culinary scene. If you’re a fan of authentic street food, visit one of the renowned hawker centres, or if you prefer exclusive Michelin-star restaurants, head to the unique food street Keong Saik Road to discover some of Singapore’s finest dining experiences in beautiful settings. A true paradise for food lovers!
Other popular and trendy districts worth exploring are the vibrant Haji Lane in Kampong Glam and the Art Deco area of Tiong Bahru. Both districts are renowned for their cosy cafés, exciting restaurants and shops, and impressive street art.

George Town is a city full of contrasts. It is listed on the UNESCO world heritage list, mainly due to its unique cultural heritage and architectural beauty. Skyscrapers and large shopping malls sharply contrast with the city’s beautiful, old British colonial-era buildings. Among the most visited sights are Fort Cornwallis, George Town City Hall, Queen Victoria Clock Tower, and St. George’s Church found in the old town. This area is also adorned with stunning mosaics and creative street art on its old walls, while cosy cafés offer freshly baked bread and cakes, homemade juices, and delicious coffee.
George Town is a multicultural community where almost all faiths are represented. Here, you can explore churches and mosques, as well as Chinese, Buddhist, and Hindu temples. The city’s multi-ethnic society, primarily consisting of Malays, Chinese, and Indians, is also vividly reflected in its culinary scene. In fact, George Town is known as the ‘Food Capital of Malaysia’ and is a haven for food enthusiasts, offering a diverse array of street food cuisine with dishes like char kway teow (stir-fried rice noodle dish), asam laksa (spicy noodle soup), and nasi kandar (rice dish with various curries).
The multicultural community is also evident in the streets, such as the Street of Harmony, Armenian Street, Chinatown, Little India, and one of the city’s seven ‘Clan Jetties’, which are small Chinese villages built on stilts over the water.
Near George Town, you can enjoy stunning natural experiences. A short drive from here is Penang Hill, which stands at 833 meters above sea level, making it the highest point on Penang. Penang Hill offers a breathtaking view over George Town and the surrounding sea. It is also covered with lush rainforest, home to the park The Habitat, where you can encounter various bird species, curious squirrels, and long-tailed macaques. The Habitat also features spectacular viewpoints, canopy walkways, and interactive exhibits.
George Town is a truly fantastic city!
Today, you’ll embark on an exciting city tour of George Town.
You will be collected from your hotel and taken to the vibrant and lively Chowrasta Market, which is deeply rooted in the city’s culture and history. Here, you can experience local life, where traders buy everything from fresh produce to dried spices and belacan, a shrimp paste speciality from Penang.
From here, proceed to the city’s promenade, Esplanade, where you can enjoy views over the Straits of Malacca and the historic surroundings, including the 18th-century British Fort Cornwallis and the iconic Queen Victoria Memorial Clock.
The city tour continues along Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, also known as the ‘Street of Harmony’. Discover St. George’s Church, Malaysia’s oldest Anglican church, the Chinese temple Kuan Yin Teng, the Hindu temple Sri Mahamariamman, and the Kapitan Keling Mosque.
