Helicopter ride over Victoria Falls
We promise you it’s worth every penny! Whether Victoria Falls is the world’s largest waterfall depends on how you measure a waterfall. It’s not the world’s highest waterfall, nor is it the waterfall where most water per second courses over the edge. But with a width of 1.7 km, it is undoubtedly the world’s widest waterfall – and not a waterfall that you can see in all its glory from ground level.
It’s quite a different story from the air, however! From the air, you also get to enjoy a spectacular view of all the gorges that the huge volumes of water have carved out through the ages. Naturally, a long helicopter flight offers a greater chance for you to take some really good pictures, but even a short, 10-minute trip promises fantastic views and the opportunity to capture the entire length of the waterfall, along with some of the rainbows that almost always form in the water drops produced by the raging waters. In the local language, Victoria Falls are known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya”, which means “the smoke that thunders” – and for good reason!
The tour goes ahead when there are at least 2 people.
If there are less than 4 of you travelling together, we recommend that you book the helicopter tour directly through our local partner in Livingstone, as they’ll be able to see whether there are others who also wish to fly on the same day.
