The Fort Printers

Galle

Fort Printers sits in the old town of Galle, surrounded by the old walls of the fort. The hotel consists of three protected buildings from the 1800s, which have been gently restored to form a truly charming and elegant boutique hotel.

The 16 rooms in the hotel are divided across three buildings, where minimalist design, tranquil hues, and antiques from the Colonial Era beautifully go hand in hand.

All rooms feature Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a mini bar, a safe, complimentary bottled water, as well as an electric kettle so you can make tea and coffee. They also feature a four-poster bed, a desk, a closet, a seating area, and a big bathroom with a shower and/or a bathtub. Hair dryers and irons/ironing boards are available by request. In other words, not a single thing is missing.

The hotel has an idyllic garden with the finest plumeria (frangipani) flowers, a contrast to the charming bare yellow walls. There is also a small pool with loungers.

The garden is also nicely set up in case you wish to enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner in these magical surroundings. If you would prefer not to sit outside, there is a nice dining room as well.

Breakfast at the hotel typically consists of fresh fruit, juice, smoothies, home-made bread, egg and cheese, while the lunch dishes vary between fresh salads, gourmet burgers, sandwiches, sashimi, and tacos. Dinner is an opulent affair with specialities such as grilled lobster, tuna fish and prawns, soups, lamb tagine, mezze, Mediterranean-inspired specialities, and naturally, traditional Sri Lankan “rice and curry” dishes.

There are also tons of restaurants in the area, in case you want to eat outside on one of the days.

The hotel also offers free bicycle rental, so that you can explore Galle and the city’s beaches
