Thilanka started out as a small bed and breakfast with just 5 rooms in 1978. Over the years, it grew into a small hotel and is today one of the most popular hotels in Kandy with as many as 92 rooms.
The hotel enjoys a wonderful location, close to the Udawatta Kele Nature Reserve with views of the city, the lake and the green-clad mountains – it doesn’t get much better than this! All the rooms have the same breathtaking views.
All 92 rooms are of a good size and traditionally appointed with dark wooden furniture and nice, colourful fabrics. Each room offers Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a safe, a telephone, a TV and a mini-fridge, as well as a bathroom with toiletries and a hair dryer. In the morning, you can sit out on the small balcony and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and take in the view before the day really starts.
After a day of sightseeing, you can relax on a sun lounger by the infinity pool and enjoy panoramic views of the city and the Hanthana mountain range.
As a guest, you have access to the hotel’s cosy restaurant, which serves international dishes, whether you go for the buffet or à la carte.
And what better way to round off the evening than with a chilled glass of white wine from the hotel bar?
