Hike to Little Adam’s Peak

Hike to Little Adam’s Peak, which is not to be confused with its big brother, the sacred mountain Adam’s Peak, which is located in an entirely different part of the country.

Little Adam’s Peak is thus named because the two mountains resemble one another in terms of their shape and because it is smaller and far easier to climb. Little Adam’s Peak is “only” 1,141 metres high, whereas Adam’s Peak stands a whopping 2,243 metres tall.

You guide/driver will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to the place where the hike starts. The climb to the top of Little Adam’s Peak is not too strenuous and can be done in about 1–1½ hours at an easy pace.  The route is relatively flat and takes you along narrow paths and through green tea plantations. You might even be lucky enough to meet tea pickers on their way to and from work. Take your time so that you can enjoy the view from the many lookout points. On the last part of the route, you ascend a staircase of 350 steps. This might sound like a lot, but it is doable for most people. At the top, you are rewarded with a fantastic view of Sri Lanka’s enchanting highlands and rolling peaks.

You will then be driven back to your hotel.

Duration: 2-2.5 hours

The tour is free and simply booked with your guide/driver at the destination.
