Village visit: By tuk tuk through Ahangama and lush plantations

You get close to village life in Ahangama, located between Galle and Mirissa. Here you get good insight into the local inhabitants’ daily life and their production of sugar cane and cinnamon.
After breakfast, you will be picked up at the hotel and driven to Ahangama. Here you will be greeted by a smiling tuk-tuk driver who will take you on an unforgettable tour of his village.
First stop is an interesting visit to a local family who produce cinnamon. You will be shown around their cinnamon plantation, where you will learn more about how cinnamon is extracted. Perhaps you want to buy some to take home for your own kitchen?
You will then be driven on to another local family in the village who make a living from sugar cane production. Sugar cane has many uses besides sugar, making it is a good raw material to produce and sell. You will hear much more about what sugar cane can be used for, and you will also learn about the entire processing process.
You will now leave Ahangama and be driven to a small village close to the picturesque Koggala lagoon. In true Sri Lankan fashion, you will be offered local delicacies and tea from one of the many plantations in the highlands.
After some exciting hours, you will be driven back to your hotel, where you will have the rest of the day at your own disposal.
