Located just outside the gate into Nyerere Nationalpark is the cosy Africa Safari Camp.
The camp consists of 21 bungalows – so-called bandas – of various sizes. They are all individually situated in a large garden with the pool area at the centre of it all.
The bandas are rustic but pleasantly decorated in classic Tanzanian style. They all have their own bathroom, mosquito nets, ceiling fan and electricity. Please note, however, that the camp’s electricity comes from solar cells, so there is not power around the clock.
Meals are enjoyed in the cosy restaurant, and the reception is often the natural gathering point at different times of the day. It’s the only place where there is Wi-Fi (to the extent African internet allows).
In the evening, you will be escorted to your bungalow by a Masai warrior. The camp is not fenced in, and it’s not unusual for elephants, etc., to come through the camp at night!
