Tanzania is undisputedly one of the world’s best safari countries. Serengeti’s endless plains, which are home to millions of wild animals, take most people’s breath away.
On this tour, you will get right up close to Serengeti’s amazing scenery and wildlife – without compromising on comfort. Here, you enjoy a five-star view from your four-star safari lodge in the heart of the Serengeti plain.
We’ve made sure that your time is utilised to the full with a fly-in safari. You will therefore fly onto the unique Serengeti plain, where some of the world’s best safaris await you. You will stay at a fantastic 4-star safari lodge in the heart of the Serengeti. The view from the lodge is incomparable, and your room is like something from the most beautiful holiday brochure. The luxury safari tents are a stylish combination of canvas and stone, giving you an authentic safari ambience, but with all the modern luxury you could wish for.
The days on the Serengeti are filled with safari. The stay is “all inclusive” – and when you’re not on safari, you can swim in the pool, read a good book on your own private veranda, enjoy the view from the bar or perhaps chill with a relaxing massage.
From Serengeti, you will fly to Zanzibar, where five days in paradise await you. You will stay at a beautiful 4-star resort right next to the turquoise-blue Indian Ocean. The stay here is half board.
The days in Zanzibar are spent at your leisure. Excursions can be arranged if you wish, but we’re guessing that you won’t really want to leave your resort.
If you really want to spoil yourself with a 5-star luxury finish to your holiday, we warmly recommend upgrading to the fabulous Zuri Zanzibar resort. Here, you will be staying at a beautiful five-star resort on one of the island’s finest beaches. Your exclusive bungalow, which is set in a large tropical garden, has its own large, fully furnished veranda and is a fantastic mix of luxurious bohemia. Here, too, the stay is half board. See the price for the upgrade in the programme.
Departure day, where you will fly to Tanzania with connecting flights along the way.
If you’re lucky, you’ll catch a glimpse of Africa’s tallest mountain, Kilimanjaro, from the air. It rises a majestic 4,800 metres (5,895 AMSL) from the savannah, and there is always snow on the top.
At Kilimanjaro Airport, our partner will be waiting to help you through immigration. From the airport, you drive just over an hour to Arusha, where you spend one night before flying directly to Serengeti in the morning.
You have an early breakfast in Arusha followed by transport to the airport just outside of town, from which you fly to Serengeti.
Our guide will be waiting for you here to drive you to your accommodation for the next three nights. You will be staying at the most beautiful lodge in the heart of the national park and you have some truly amazing safari experiences ahead of you.
First, however, you will be treated to a hearty lunch. And with a little luck, the safari will begin now. The lodge’s restaurant offers a phenomenal view of the plains, and it is not unusual to see lions, giraffes and, of course, a lot of antelopes just outside the lodge.
After a dip in the pool, or perhaps an afternoon nap, the adventure kicks off in earnest, and the first game drive begins. It’s impossible to say what you’re going to see over the next few days, but suffice it to say that the animals are out there in their millions: millions of wildebeest and zebras, thousands of antelopes and buffaloes, hundreds of lions, elephants, leopards, hippos and crocodiles and thousands of birds. Serengeti offers some of the most amazing and unique wildlife and outdoor experiences on this planet.
Back at the lodge, dinner will be served, and you can relax in your luxury tent with the new sounds of the savannah right outside the door. We’re guessing you’ll sleep quite well tonight!
You have the next couple of days to enjoy the wildlife and the nature of the stunning Serengeti National Park.
The ecosystem here in the park is considered to be one of the oldest in the world, and you’d be hard pressed not to feel both humbled and astonished when sitting in your land cruiser, absorbing all that you see before you. Outside the drought period, you will also see a large number of Thompson’s gazelles, buffaloes, topi, Grant’s gazelles, eland antelopes, warthogs, eagles, ostriches, etc., in addition to the animals already mentioned. Today, you will probably also see and smell the hippos wallowing in the hippo pools.
Depending on what the days’ game drives bring, you will also have time to enjoy the lovely luxurious lodge. Perhaps a cold drink by the pool – or a massage after all those hours in the car?
No two days on safaris are the same, and the day’s route and itinerary are determined by the animals and the nature but that’s also what makes safari so fascinating. You might be lucky enough to see the leopard dragging its prey up into a tree – or to witness the cheetahs sprinting over the plains at a top speed of 120 km/h. The guides are skilled and know where you have the best chance of seeing the animals. This also means that on some days you might be on safari all day and not return to the lodge until dinner-time. On such days, the guide obviously makes sure that there is a good packed lunch for you in the car, to ensure that you get the most out of your safari.
Your stay at the safari lodge includes breakfast, lunch and dinner.
After one last morning safari and breakfast on the lodge’s panoramic terrace, you head to the local airstrip where the plane to Zanzibar awaits you. You will fly to Zanzibar, so you can be in the water come the afternoon. The flight time takes around 2½ hours, and on your arrival in Zanzibar you will be greeted by our local guide and driven to your hotel.
The days are spent at your leisure.
Located in the Indian Ocean, Zanzibar consists of the main islands of Unguja (unofficially known as Zanzibar) and Pemba, as well as myriad small islands. When it comes to nature and culture, the island of Zanzibar is truly spoilt: white sandy beaches, azure sea and a stunning coral reef. A hot, sunny climate all year round is conducive to relaxation and a beach holiday.
The island’s dramatic history includes Arab sultans, Portuguese seafarers, slave trade and European explorers, all of which have left their mark on the island. And it is also here that you will find one of Africa’s most exciting cities, packed with beautiful Arabic architecture. Not forgetting the delicious Swahili cuisine and the friendly people.
You are picked up from the hotel and driven to the airport, where your journey home starts.
You arrive in the UK after a wonderful trip.

If you love Marrakesh, you’ll love Stone Town too. Narrow, winding streets without pavements, constant swarms of children and adults, bicycles, donkeys and merchants peddling everything in small shops sitting right out into the road. At the square’s “barazas” (built-in benches) in the middle of the labyrinth, men sit and talk over cups of strong coffee while children play ball and a cat stretches lazily in the sun.
At first sight, the city looks quite ramshackle, but just take a look at the doors! The big, heavy, elaborately decorated wooden doors are in many ways synonymous with Zanzibar’s biggest city.
There are markets and museums here, plenty of excursion opportunities and a vibrant waterfront. During the day, the waterfront is well-frequented by locals taking strolls, young men making trips from the quay as well as fishing and tourist boats both arriving and setting off. In the evening, there is a local market here.
Stone Town is in many ways practically an experience of the senses. Here you will find smells and sounds, flavours, colours, history and culture – Stone Town has it all. It is no mystery that the town is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
