Bangkok street food tour by tuktuk
Do you love Thai food, too? Then this tour is just the thing for you!
You make your own way to the start of the excursion located by Hua Lamphong Station Exit 4, where you guide will be waiting for you.
where a tuktuk will be waiting to drive you around Bangkok’s vibrant streets to some of the city’s hidden-away eateries.
Along the way, you’ll catch a glimpse of Bangkok’s popular landmarks, which are beautifully lit up in the evening. You’ll see the Democracy Monument, which marks Thailand’s abolition of absolute monarchy and the introduction of a constitutional monarchy. The monument is located on the busy Ratchadamnoen Avenue, not far from the Royal Palace, Grand Palace.
You’ll arrive at a popular Pad Thai restaurant which is a Bib Gourmand restaurant. Bib Gourmand is a distinction awarded by the Michelin Guide to restaurants that serve well-prepared, reasonably-priced food. Here, you’ll be served the spicy and tasty national dish on banana leaves, and you can also visit the kitchen and see how it all happens.
Back in the tuktuk, you continue past the 27-metre-high Giang Swing, a historical and cultural landmark at Wat Suthat Thepwararam temple.
The next stop is a local night market, where you’ll have time for a wander between the many stalls. You’ll learn about local delicacies such as braised pork leg (khao kha mu), coconut pudding and sticky rice with egg (bua loi khai waan).
The tour continues to Thailand’s largest flower market, Pak Klong Talat, which is only open in the evening. You’ll stroll past the array of flower stalls and you may have the opportunity to fold your own lotus flower, which is of great religious significance.
The evening rounds off at the relaxing rooftop bar Eagle Nest, located on the Chao Phraya River, overlooking the illuminated Wat Arun temple. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better view than this!
Finally, your tuk-tuk drops you off at the nearest metro station, and you can take the metro back to the hotel, unless you’d like to hang out there a little longer.
