Bike ride in historic Chiang Mai
Exploring Chiang Mai by bike is a fantastic way to discover the city.
You’ll need to head to our partner’s office yourself, where you’ll be provided with a bicycle and helmet. The address will be on your voucher. After a quick briefing, it’s time to pedal off and experience the city’s charm. The route is easy and flat, suitable for most people.
You’ll bike through the quiet, narrow streets of Chiang Mai to the lovely Wat Inthakhin Sadue Mueang temple, famous for its 700-year-old white Buddha statue. The bike tour continues past the Three Kings Monument to the Tha Phae Gate, where traders once brought their goods during the city’s heyday. Here, your guide will enlighten you about Chiang Mai’s former role as a trading centre. You’ll then head to the nearby Somphet Market, where you can take in the local vibe and sample colourful fruits and sweet treats. Afterwards, you’ll visit Chiang Mai’s oldest temple, Wat Chiang Man, home to an 1,800-year-old crystal Buddha and a 2,500-year-old marble Buddha. Finally, you’ll visit the city’s largest monument, the iconic Wat Chedi Luang, once the home of the Emerald Buddha, now housed in Wat Phra Kaew temple in Bangkok.
After a delightful bike tour, you’ll be driven back to your hotel, with the rest of the day free for your own pursuits.
