Day trip to Phang Nga Bay by speedboat
Today is spent at the beautiful Phang Nga Bay, located between Phuket and the Thai mainland. This is one of the most beautiful bays in all of Thailand. Limestone karsts rise vertically from the clear, blue-green water – in some places completely bare, in others overgrown with bushes and trees, which are home to both monkeys, lizards and lots of birds.
You will be picked up from your hotel and driven to the pier, where you climb aboard a speedboat that zips you to some of the bay’s greatest sights. You’ll make a stop at the islands of Panak and Koh Hong, where you have the opportunity to kayak in the picturesque surroundings – and it goes without saying that you also get to see Koh Tapu, better known as James Bond Island, made famous by the film “The Man with the Golden Gun”.
Afterwards, you’ll go ashore at Koh Panyee, a small fishing village built on stilts in the water by seafaring Muslim families from Indonesia. Today, it is a small, thriving community which benefits from a school, a mosque and a football pitch. Hear the interesting history of the island, while you enjoy your lunch at the local restaurant.
After lunch, you set sail for the island of Koh Naka, where relaxation is the order of the day. You have the opportunity to snorkel from the beach here, enjoy the warm water, the beautiful corals and the lovely afternoon sun before returning to Phuket late afternoon.
