Full-day excursion to the Phi Phi Islands

Come on this full-day excursion to the picture-postcard Phi Phi Islands.

You’ll be picked up from the hotel and driven to the pier in eastern Phuket, where you’ll take a speedboat to the Phi Phi Islands. Our partner has their very own speedboat, and of course that’s the one you’ll be going with.

There’s a cosy little coffee bar at the pier with a shop, where you can buy clothes, swimming equipment, etc. Our partner also provides drinks, a sweet treat and seasickness pills for those who haven’t found their sea legs.

When the speedboat zips away from the shore, you’ll have to hold onto your hat and glasses, because it’s fast and the boat rocks.

After around 45–60 minutes, you arrive at Monkey Beach on the west side of Phi Phi Don, the larger of the Phi Phi islands, where there’s time to both swim and sunbathe. The beach is named after the wild monkeys that live on the white sandy beach. The monkeys are cheeky and not averse to stealing your belongings, so we recommend that you either leave them on the boat or are sure to hide them if you go for a swim.

Back in the boat, you head to a picturesque spot off the northern part of Phi Phi Don, where you have the opportunity to snorkel among colourful fish.

You are then sailed to Laem Tong Beach on the other side of Phi Phi Don. Almost 1 km long, Laem Tong Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Phi Phi Islands with its fine white sand. A delicious traditional Thai lunch will be served here while you sit with your feet buried in the sand and enjoy the view of the paradise beach. After lunch, you can enjoy a stroll along the beach or a quick dip before setting off for the next adventure.

The speed boat now sets course for the popular tourist attraction Pileh Lagoon, which is one of the most breathtaking places in Thailand. The lagoon is surrounded by tall limestone cliffs rising from the clear, turquoise water with traditional long-tail boats, forming the perfect backdrop. Jump in for a refreshing dip from the boat while enjoying the fantastic surroundings.

You’ll then leave Phi Phi Don and head for Phi Phi Leh, the smaller of the two Phi Phi islands. When you disembark, you’ll do so onto a floating platform, which bobs up and down due to all the boats, so hold on to each other. Phi Phi Leh is known for Maya Bay, which was where the popular movie The Beach was filmed. With its turquoise waters and picturesque limestone cliffs, Maya Bay is like something out of a travel magazine. Unfortunately, swimming is not allowed here, but you can paddle and go for a walk along the water’s edge and just enjoy the fantastic view, which should probably also be immortalised with a photo or two.

The boat will now sail back to Phuket, but before you get there, you’ll make a stop at Rang Yai Island, where a BBQ will be served on the beach.

After dinner, you’ll sail back to the pier at Phuket, enjoying the most beautiful sunset on the horizon on the way.

Back in Phuket, a driver will be waiting to drive you back to the hotel.

This excursion is also open to guests other than TourCompass’ own guests.

We recommend that you book the excursion when booking the tour.

Please note that this excursion is not possible during the rainy season from 1 August to 30 September each year, as Maya Bay is closed for visitors to protect and restore the local ecosystems and natural resources.
